I'm not talking about card games or puzzlers. No I mean emulators or even Doom or Quake for that matter. I've installed them but just don't use them either because they're just too slow, or simply because we're keyboard based.

I play my MSX emulator, and currently looking for a proper C64 emu that handles d64 files.

but yes, I do play games on the HPC. I dont carry the thing around everywhere I go, but when I'm home, I just lay on bed after sitting all day behind a computer, and just play a few games. Especially the older games are mostly short-term arcade games, and it's just an easy way to get a break.

Doom/Quake, they are cool to show-off, but they are not really playable due to the small size and using the stylus to look around is also kinda anoying, but a simple game such as pac-man and the likes are similair in fun as a game of solitaire

I understand there's a bit of a lack of those GOOD games for HPC, but just wait until Star Defenders Online comes out... It will be the greatest game ever ported to WinCE. Currently I haven't made a whole lot of progress on it, because I'm still finishing out my senior year of high school, but as soon as I head off to college, I can learn C++ and start programming it. I'm about halfway done with the musical score, and about 25% done with the design and story. Basically, it's going to be a Space/Fantasy/MMORPG where everyone can choose their own path in their quest, in hopes of bringing peace and prosperity to the galaxy. As for graphics, they will be isometric, like a third-person view. I'm going to implement a real-time active battle engine, none of that turn-based misery. The story, music, and gameplay are going to be BEAUTIFUL. It will be unlike any other MMORPG, in the sense that you don't have to stand there and brainlessly slaughter masses of enemies to gain experience points. You can be a merchant; selling goods to those in need, or a scholar; travelling the galaxy discovering new forms of life to be recorded in an intergalactic database. You could hang out at the casinos all the time, gambling your in-game currency to your heart's desire. Or, you could go the military route, and join the Federation Starfleet, and go on organized missions and liberations. And many, many more ways of life... As well as being able to run around and do these things on planets, you can also pilot starships, and equip them with insane weaponry and firepower, to show your enemies who's boss.
I hope to port this game to as many platforms as possible, including Windows, WinCE, MacOS, and Linux. Hopefully this fill fix the lack of GOOD games available for the HPC. And best of all, it's going to be 100% FREEWARE.

To boldly go where no HPC has gone before...

Maul, the difficulty with 3D games is that they require incredibly high-tech hardware to work in real time. A friend of mine, who is disabled and on a fixed income, is trying to save up for a $2000 upgrade of his PC system so that he can start playing Unreal Tournament 2007 when it comes out. If it were even doable on a portable device, imagine how expensive it'd be.

I don't use my HPC to play Doom and whatnot, I don't think its current configuration even can

However, a quick game of Pacman or some little arcade game, I can't really beat the ease of use and the speed of just getting started with my HPC for that.

By the time I have booted up my XP machine etc etc, I have already started my game of choice on the HPC and already well into it.

Do I play games on my HPC, why sure, it's quick and easy to start up and just get going. Is my HPC a games machine? No, not really. I never wanted it to be.

I really like to play classic adventure games using ScummVM. I am currently playing Sam and Max Hit the Road and it is a blast.

I will occasionally play quake on my Netbook Pro. The controls are rather poorly set up, imo, with the controls on the left side and the screen on the right, forcing you to reach across the screen to drag the stylus around. It would be much more playable with mouse support, too.

Well, you only have to reach across the screen if you're right-handed, which is only, uh, 85% of the population?

Isn't that what Pocket PC's are for? If we took that away from them, then they'd be totally useless.
