I'll make a promise here and hope others follow my lead.

If I ever win a *big* jackpot (8 figures or better) I promise to take all the registered users here (as of this posting date) on a junket to the consumer show thing they host in Vegas.

Air fare, accomodation and food will be paid for.

Gambling, tattoos, and encounters with the other or same sex (yea, I'm pretty liberal) are on your dime. Legal representation for any reasons related to the preceding are also your financial concern

I think it would be a hoot, especially if we all brought all of our hpc gear. We'd set some sort of geek records in many categories.

Is anyone else willing to go on the record and do the same thing if you win it big? I hope others will chime in and think it's a good idea.

After all, should someone win 10M$ what's a million for a party with close friends

I wonder how many drinks my Jornada can handle before it starts moving the keys around on me :rip

I'll take any excuse to go to Vegas and lose my money. I could even save you a few bucks by driving there, as I would prefer to have my car with me to carry my gadgets. (It's about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from where I live.)

But I'll have to rely on your or someone else's jackpot, cuz I don't play the lotteries.

I don't play the lottery, so sure, I'll sign up

My friend is about to go to Vegas, tomorrow as it happens.
I've been there before. It was something of a surprise to see the strip, busy with traffic and people, and the pavement was lined with pornography. I guess I find out why they call it the "Strip". I kid not either, true story... must have been an off day in the morally virtuous USA.

An annual Vegas hpc convention would be something I'd really enjoy. It has to be in the winter though so us snowhounds can escape the winter for a week.

Well, it's cold in Vegas then too. Remember, it's 3000 feet elevation.

'fraid not, C:Amie. Those papers have graced the sidewalks of Las Vegas Boulevard every time I've been there.
