Hi,

Earlier today i copied my wallpaper to my J720. I then deleted all the shortcuts from the desktop. A reset later and the My Computer and Recycle Bin had gone as well. Now this makes the desktop look nice, but means i cant empty the bin - any ideas?

Thanks,

Put an application shortcut - any shortcut back on the desktop and soft reset.
It is a known bug in the Jornada.

That threw me the first couple of times I used my 720 but C:Amie is right, add a shortcut and reset - voila the My Computer and Recycle Bin are back.

You have to leave at least one shortcut on your 720's desktop or you will run into the same problem each time.

OK, i'll try it. Thanks.

EDIT: Is it possible to access the recycle bin some other way? I quite like the desktop like this...

Interesting tidbit.

Can you intentionally delete the my computer or recycle bin icons? I've never tried.

No you can't delete them by hitting delete.

Chazco,

Yes it is
In the registry go to
HKLM\Explorer\MyComputer

Create a new string called:
{000214A1-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

Give it the Value:
Recycle Bin

Soft reset and it will appear in the My Handheld PC root.

To delete the recycle bin from the desktop go to:
HKLM\Explorer\Desktop and literally delete the Recycle Bin value.

CmoneX, you always have to be special.
