Having posted this in the wrong place previously, I will apologize in advance if I am still in the wrong forum.

I just got a Jornada 720 from ebay and want to add Acrobat Reader. Where do I find the correct one? I thought I had the right one but ActiveSync won't install it.

TIA,
Julie

Julie, do you have a flash card reader for your PC? I find it much easier to copy the .cab file to my flash card on my PC, transfer the flash card to my hpc and then install it.

Activesync can take so long to transfer files you'll think something has broken.

Okay, now I feel really ignorant. I am not sure what to do with the cab files. I downloaded them but wasn't sure what to do next. I don't mind reading directions--I am not a total dope --but I didn't get the documentation that was on the download page.

Cab files are quite similar to exe files when you need to install a program on a PC. Just double tap on them in your HPC and the program will install.

Now then, where did you download the .cab file to? Your hpc or desktop machine?

Now I get it. I got it installed and working. There aren't any upgrades, though, are there? I am trying to download books from our library and, of course, they don't work on this earlier version of reader. Could be another user error, I will keep trying, but I thought I would ask.
Thanks again for everyones help,
Julie

Julie,

Did you download Acrobat Reader version 1 or version 2?

You might find some of the guides in the support section useful, for example the installation guides which cover Cab, Host and manual application installation.

If you dont want the Adobe Reader (which takes up tons of space), you can download Microsoft's PDF viewer from the microsoft viewers package. Check out cmonex's site for the package download.

acrobat reader always opens and displays everything for me correctly
