I've just got myself a USB hub off ebay but it will not work on my laptop at all, it works on my Jornada with my USB Card and with any desktop PC I try it on, any ideas?

Do USB devices work in the laptop without the hub?

Yeah, all the devices work without the hub, just not with it.

Does the hub have an AC adpater? Are you using it?
Is it a USB1.0, 1.1 or 2.0 hub, same question for the port (not that it should matter)

Lastly, try a different cable between the hub and the laptop.

Hi,

The port is 1.1, the cable is fixed and I don't have a power supply. In a nutshell

if you have a male to female usb cable, try using that in between the laptop and the hub

If it doesn't have a power supply, then it could be a voltage problem if the laptop has an old usb port.
