Hi All,

I just finnished watching a programme a recorded a while ago, Meltdown - Global warming...

Scientists are using the SETi idea create climate models many times over, obvoiusly this isn't cheap to do with supercomputers so they have written a program to do it on your home pc, exactly like SETi.

Here are a few links:

http://bbc.cpdn.org/

Being the geeks we all are I thought you'd be interested. I think they said they needed 100k users, but I'm not sure. They have at least 10k now.

The BBC Experiment uses the BOINC engine, the same as the SETI@Home client. So you should be able to join the H/PC Community group and run this experiment too (I *think*)

Yeah, I'm looking into it. I think this project is great, though I didn't think the SETI one was so good.

That's why they diversified it with BOINC, so that people with different interests could participate collectively

I'm in then. Unless we collect more weather data to fix things SETI won't do us too much good

To start with I felt like running it on my server, as its on all the time anyhow and doesn't exactly do much but it really hits it on the processing power so I couldn't really do it.
