I just need to rant about Canada Customs.

I got my ebay Amity today, direct to my door through the mail, no fees or taxes. The item was declared at the full purchase price of $80.

So why in heck did Canada Customs hold my two cheap Mobilepros, (from Rich) valued cheaply, and assess $50 in customs fees to release them? Even worse, Customs didn't even open the box the examine the MP contents. What in the world did they use to determine a value of a closed box?

I feel better, thanks

Tell them the rest too Wally, how I declared them as gifts and a low value...and they still stuck you.

Thanks Rich, those are important points I forgot. Even more reason for me to be steamed at them...

hm, our customs is much better, they don't question the value written on the items, just have me pay the 20% VAT customs duty itself is often negligibly small - 0% for HPC's).
but i had to pay that only once, for the sig2, because as i already told you i could trick them in two other cases... lol

also i usually buy my items locally or within the EU so no VAT or any kind of duty

I haven't really sampled Canadian Customs before. From personal experience I've not had any problems with HMC&E here at home, however is someone wanted to rant about US Customs... *bites tongue*
