I've toiled for hours with the HPC's, printing out forum advice to follow. I still cannot connect to the internet. When I login to the 192.168.1.1 address, it gives me the following info. under "ROUTER STATUS." Am I looking in the right place for my HPC's network settings? If so, where do I put what? Thanks.

You shouldn't change anything on your router except maybe try switching to channel 6 instead of 11. Also ensure that the router is set to give enough leases (DHCP Users) for your network.
You should receive an address on the HPC automatically (if you connect) and it will be 192.168.1.x

Are you loggin into the router with your HPC? I assume you're using a PC for that?

Why the proxim drivers? Use the prism reference drivers from here. Your hpc network properties are in control panel->network on your hpc. Try dhcp first before you fiddle with hard coded ips.

Oh, my bad. I meant I downloaded the prism driver, not proxim. Thanks. Let me try your suggestions and get back to you.

Now that I switched to "Obtain an IP address via DHCP" on my HPC settings, it immediately tells me that "site could not be found" rather than the IE symbol swirling for awhile acting like it's working like before.

I agree with Cmonex. Ping is your friend. It's funny how often this little but extremely useful tool is overlooked in troubleshooting.

hey,
can you access the wlan config utility or not at all?
if not, i'd suggest reinstalling the driver, but the HPC one, the patch for it is found on handheld attitude, not on my site, sorry anyway direct link to the patch: http://net314.myphone.gr/j720fix.html (if i'm not mistaken)
but i do have another "patch" if the problem is not that. let me know
