It (mpx200) has WM5. Don't I need AS4 to access it? I don't want to install AS4 if I can avoid it.

I can't, as of yet, hard reset the SP. I can't find out how in the manual.

Compared to my W the SP is complicated crap. I had the W up and running in minutes and I didn't know anything about Palms.

ah so you have WM5 on it, isnt this the version that's partially installed on an SD card? then that could be why you have these problems

maybe downgrade to wm2003SE if you find WM5 too hard - many think it is just too difficult.. has bugs etc... quite a beta version..

And they call 'em Smartphones. As I said in another thread, I'm perfectly happy with my "Dumbphone."

Whaaat? Part of the OS is on the SD card? Is this by design? What idiot thought that is a good idea?

Most importantly, can I change it to have all the OS in rom?

Finding a 2003se image is a thought but that's a last resort.

yes it is installed on the SD partially. because the ROM isnt big enough. as far as i know this WM5 is beta and unofficial. maybe even not legal (but not sure what is the agreement on this). still want to use it?

further explanation: beta, because this device was a beta tester for WM5, they never released WM5 for this phone officially afaik.

oh and forgot to answer your question on AS, yes you do need to install AS 4.x to sync with WM5.

About SMS spam... Yes they exist, in some parts of the world anyway. People get SMS spam all the time in Hong Kong and China. I guess in North America SMS is just not as popular yet. Which means in the near future we will have the same problem. However sending SMS is charged per message, which costs more money compared to telemarketing, faxing and emailing, which are usually charged monthly.

iPAQ 5xxx - actually pretty well known for having a dummy SIM slot

Moto MPx200 - like cmonex said try to get the 2003 official image. The WM5 one is unofficial, buggy, and said to have no real advantage over the old upgrade, mostly due to outdated hardware (it was originally an SP2002 device).
