| I did a forum search but didn't find anything resembling this question/problem.
I recently picked up a Canon (made my Sandisk) 32 MB CF card.
I have another Sandisk CF card--256 MB--which I have named using the "Locking a storage card folder name to your storage device" instructions here on HPC:Factor. I had two other CF cards and did the same procedure and it has worked like a champ.
Problem: the new Sandisk 32 MB card as the same PnpId as the 256 Sandisk card.
That being the case, how can I lock the name, a different name, for each card? Right now on in explorer, with both cards running, it's "256 MB" and "256 MB2". I want it to be "256 MB" and "Canon 32"
Two questions:
is there a workaround for this?
do I need to change the PnpId (and, if so, how?)
oops. three questions.
Am I wrong in assuming that each CF device has a unique name, sort of like a MAC address? It appears that I am.
many thanks. | |
