jpegs as background

i just upgraded from a jornada 690 to a 720 and i noticed that you are able to open pictures using internet explorer but unlike the 690, you can't alt+click to select "Set As Wallpaper". Is there any other way i could use Jpeg images as desktop backgrounds?

Get ftx browser, a somewhat edited PIE. It can be found at Henri's site. With that browser you can right-click and download the picture, then set it as background.

that still didn't work, yea it lets me save the picture, but the problem is not saving the file. I already have the files on my CF card, i just want to keep them in the JPEG format while using them as my background. I want to save space.

Windows CE HPC version do not support Active Desktop. So you have to convert it to a BMP in storage.

Or you can install one of the small launch apps that allows you to use jpg as background. I use SQ.exe for mine.

SQ is a bit OTT just to get something to sit in RAM and decompress a JPG into a BitMap me thinks

where can i get SQ?
