Well, at least you can skip entering the date and time, because ActiveSync will synchronize these during the first sync after restoring. (But you do have to enter the home city anyway in case you plan to travel in the future.)
Well, you can press both Ctrl and Esc to access the start menu
But chances are if you hard resetted, you'll want to recalibrate your touchscreen, otherwise things will be difficult

Once you are past the touch-screen calibration just keep pressing escape and the wizard will finish quickly. Killing it by Alt+Tab is also possible, but seems to require a soft reset as well.
A good way round this is to do a backup with Activesync, then after a hard reset just stick it in the cradle and use the restore function. All settings restored and everything else.

Ahh, how to hard rest R700?? i've try for a whole night....
If it's like a MP800 holding down the Left Shift key might work. That bypasses almost all the startup stuff on my MP780. Right Shift might work as well.
