I guess Chazco is right. For instance the settings recommended by Connex-Vodaphone on their site are:
Connection string: AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.connex.ro"
Phone no.: *99***1#
username : internet.connex.ro
password : connex
IP : server assigned
DNS : 193.230.161.3 si 193.230.161.4

Do these settings look like those of your providers?

Yes, they look the same. I'm contacting C:Amie to see if i can put the tutorial on HPCFactor. It covers entering all of those options.

I disabled it due to the bandwidth it used. I'll put a note up later about it.

It works fine. I was in the local shopping complex (mall? loads of shops in one big building) and was in the eating area. Pulled out my 720 and turned the card on to use GPRS, but thought i'd just check for Wifi. Tapped easy connect wifi and was online in seconds. It also seems less power hungry than the Cisco card that came with it (Wifi not GPRS).

Thats one other point - if you are using this for GPRS be warned - it eats battery power up, since it can be transmitting data up to 5 miles back and forth, from that tiny internal transceiver.

Great, thanks C:Amie, nice conversion to a static page. The interactive version will be on my website, but not until i've bought some more data transfer...

So, arlex you can now set up a connection - use APN: "internet.connex.ro" before trying to use custom dial strings though, just in case.
