It is listed in the HCL as compatible, it is on the specification sheet for the 3Com driver. So Yes is the short answer.

If you don't have the Windows CE Services CD, you can use our 2.00 driver build to bypass is. Take a look in support.

Since that is such a common question, maybe there should be a big banner screaming HCL on the site...haha that may make browsing awkward though.

Maybe have a link that says "Drivers" or "Drivers help"?

huh?

If I added a link for driver help... it'd be rather misleading. The HCL doesn't have every driver or every range of driver available.
Plus it also implies we're providing tech support on OEM drivers... as if there are just not enough hours in my day already?

Thanks for your advice
I have installed :
HPC Factor 3COM 3C589 Ethernet Driver
HPC Factor Handheld PC 2.0 Network SP

When the card is inserted the system asks for a Driver , I wrote 3c589.dll then the 3Com icon appears in the icon tray but I can't connect to the internet.
I'm using a linksys WRT54G broadband router with a fixed IP.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance

Download and install vxUtil:
http://www.hpcfactor.com/qlink/?linkID=36

Copy us the information listed on the Information screen, we'll take it from there. I'm assuming that you know the card works with that router in a laptop?

Hi, I am very happy over the HPC-site. I have gotten much help with my HP Jornada around here, especially by the HCL. But today I bought a 3Com Etherlink III (3c589C-chipset) and used your patch to install it (don't have the CD). But when I've made a soft reset (that means "press the reset button located next to the backup battery", right? ), it doesn't ask for a driver. I have the 'Network' icon in the control panel but the LED at the cards dongle just lights up for a second when I connect it. According to the adapters list I have a "NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver" installed. Seems alright?

I have installed SP1 and the Network SP but it doesn't seem to work... =/ All help is welcome, and sorry for bumping the thread.

Best regards

Ok, three issue here.
1) The thread is on the 3C589ET
2) The thread is 11 months old
3) There is a sticky thread on the 3C589 at the top of this forum.

Please use the sticky.
