| no, it isn't possible, you must use a password for remote desktop. i'm not sure why this is a problem for you?! wouldn't you mind if anyone else could enter your pc without a password especially if remotely?? |

| you mean it would work only over the lan and no one can access the pc remotely from outside? (there's a router then with a firewall, right?)
still, remote desktop requires a password, but you can put that in before connecting, and save the settings, maybe that would work. at least if your pda is running ce.net. what pda model do you have? |

|
| no outside connection.. only local connection.
The model of pda is a Symbol barcode reader and im use this pda to make stocktake....

| IM A NEWB. I BELONG TO A TECH SUPPORT FIRM IN FLORIDA. WE HAVE WEBPADS THAT HAVE WIN CE 4.2 PRO. WE ARE GOING TO BE DEPLOYING THESE DEVICES TO HOTELS AND STUFF SO THAT GUESTS CAN ACCESS THE WEB AND SO FORTH. WE WERE WONDERING IF IT IS POSSIBLE THAT; BY CONFIGURING THE ROUTER AT EACH HOTEL AND OPEN SPECIFIC PORTS ON THE ROUTER THUS LETTING PASS TO A SPECIFIC PRTCL TO THE CE DEVICE. WOULD THIS ALLOW US TO SOME HOW REMOTE IN TO THE CE DEVICE TO UPDATE AND OR CHANGE SETTINGS???
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP ON THIS MATTER

| I second not typing in caps.
You can only do what you need if the device has a think-client management system built into ROM, wake on lan etc. |
