I noticed tonight that an HPC eBay seller (my1990) just started selling 16 MB RAM upgrade modules for the MP790. After reading the thread in Hardware Support about one member's success with upgrading the 790 to "true" 48 MB, I couldn't resist and purchased a module. (I'll let you all know how it goes when the item arrives next week.)

The eBay.com item number is: 9735992804

my1990 is selling the modules for $17.95 USD--a pretty good price considering I've never seen these upgrades available before on eBay. It's a whole lot cheaper than buying a broken 790 to get the part, that's for sure. I've ordered stuff from my1990 before (he ships pretty much anywhere) and I can vouch that he really knows his Mobilepros.

Currently, he has 9 available.

and then a broken 790 wouldnt even have the ram you'd need for the upgrade. you'd need a broken 780.

my1990 really knows his stuff thats for sure. & i can confirm he ships internationally

Thanks for the heads up on the upgrade for 790s. I bought one right away. [MY1990] looks like an excellent source for Handhelds & Accessories.

Now if only we knew which user he was...
I am tempted to get one of those ram upgrades though. I purchased a 790 the other day but because of bank slowness things no money has changed hands yet so I'll wait until that transaction finish before I start thinking about it.

My RAM upgrade from MY1990 arrived already. 3 Days from order date. I'll install it tomorrow and post the results. It came quick & professionally packed, just as other buyers report.
