| Nevermind. I saw that you reported errors in your first post in this thread. |

| I get the same series of errors reported by Tundrwd above when trying to run from CF, beginning with the very lengthy "Constructing Environment", and then a "file write" error. The program won't start. But it runs great from RAM. |

| if you OK the file write error, it will start just fine..
you should've started netfront from RAM first. then it will run fast (read: no error messages, no environment creating) from CF too as long as you leave the newly created files in RAM too.

| The answer is to install nf3 to ram then cut and paste it (after the first run) to cf.Period. No errors. |

That's what I did, as I had seen CMONEX's previous post. I installed to RAM, and all was well. Cut and pasted the NF folder to CF, and got the errors as above. I will ok the file write error and see what happens.
Thanks. |

| as i said dont do just a cut and paste! leave the cache folder and all the newly created files (after running netfront for the first time) in RAM (so do only a copy and not a cut on them) |

| Help! I've successfully bought and hacked a copy of Netfront3.3 into working fine on my J720. It's FABULOUS!!!
EXCEPT!!!, cvm.exe will not run anything java! Its splash screen appears when I try to run sample .class or .jar files, but it doesn't complete the execution. What else do I need to do to make it work? Anybody???
Considering giving up on cvm/jv-lite2, I've experimented with, and gotten RUNNING, original Sun PersonalJava for ARM, IBM's J9 v6.1(!!!), the demo of NSICom's CREME (but they won't sell an individual license), and I've even gotten the lame little chaivm 412 can even run the sample jvcalc.jar (which I could NOT get J9 to do!). Is there a secret to making cvm run? Should I get the earlier version from Netfront 3.1???

| gchild002, iirc someone already described the solution here. let me know if you can't find it. it can be made to work, i assure you
yes IBM J9 will run fine. that is good, but it is a midp solution rather than a real one. so.. the netfront java vm is very good so worth hacking it, don't give up!
oh and i cannot believe you had chaivm execute ANYTHING (other than its own samples ). Edited by cmonex 2006-07-18 8:33 PM

| Ha! I fixed it!!! Depends on a different coredll.dll than the J720 native one. So I renamed the second coredll to coredl1.dll and hexedited the libraries. It DOES work!!! Better than esmertec's jbed, which has a hardware optimized awt! |
