Same here......after failing to get Linux running on my J820 (see http://jornada820.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ) a working PDF reader is the only thing that would keep me from throwing the worthless piece of crap in the garbage. Things I tried to run on my J820 so far:

1. PDF viewer - Failed. Won't even run.
2. Pocket Snes - Failed.
3. SnesCE - Failed. Slow.
4. Pocket TV - Failed.
5. MediaPlayer (audio only) - Worked! Yay.
5. MorphGear Emulators - Failed. Shit in a funnel will run faster.
6. Linux (handheld Debian) - Failed. Asks for login name and passwd I don't have.

Note that ALL this software is SUPPOSED to work on the J820. But they don't. That's why the J820 is CRAP.

Anyway, please give me a good reason (working PDF viewer) to keep me from destroying it

they do, you need to install the hpc pro (ce 2.11 and within that, hpc professional) version of the software and for the ARM cpu.
and if an emulator runs just slow, then that is not failed, that's just slow, maybe it is worth looking into getting the ram upgrade.

anyway i'm uploading the free pdf viewer now for MIPS, a link will follow soon. and for ARM, a little later.

ok, this is for MIPS so far: http://izemize.fw.hu/cepdfdocmips211.zip

it is picky, i was told it will usually open the simpler pdf's, more complex not always. but if you can't buy (find) primer, then this is not bad.

a doc viewer is included with it as well (not bad for docs with pics and tables)

cmonex,

All I can say is "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

I am running the PDF viewer on my Izzi Pro, and it works a charm. For me it was the one "missing link" app I really needed to ditch the notebook.

You are a star!

Oh Wonderful! A PDF viewer. An excellent addition to my z50

What is this improved web browser mentioned at the start of this thread and what new functionality does it provide?

Thanks

Vicky

Great work!!

Works just fine, "some" complex files don't. All others do.

Working on Vadem Clio C-1050

(this is the same as the direct link above but now it will be easier to find.)

Any chance that we'll have an SH3 version of pdf reader for 2.11.
I'd be glad if you come up with such a solution.
Thanks
