Hi,

After searching the forums and the web, it looks like there is currently no viable program for doing a complete backup to the CF card on a MP770. Right?

I found Tubu by ThumbsUp which didn't work, and BSquare is no more.

Is it possible to manually backup to the card just by copying folders?

Thanks,
Jodi

You can backup file like that, sure. What you don't get are the system databases, the settings databases or the user databases. Without those many applications will not run on restore.

You can perform an ActiveSync backup of course to keep you safe while you sort yourself out.

I was in the same situation with my Clio just last night. ArtSSave will do the trick. It has some really neat features too, but it is not free (14 day demo). Works for CE 2.11 through CE.Net.

ArtSSave looks to be just a couple of bucks more than a cable would cost, shipped. I'll have to decide which method makes more sense.

I like the idea of being independant of the PC. Most of the times my little Palm Pilot lost everything, I had no immediate access to my desktop. But I always had a card backup to save me.

I made a small error in my previous post, ArtSSave works for CE 2.0 and later. It's $25 for the full version and that gets you access to all HPC versions

I have now! Lots more to consider. Thanks!

I also have to get my courage up to test ArtSave. I installed the 2 week trial. I guess the only way to be sure I want to buy it is to try a restore and see how well it works.

I thouht I would mention that, with two days to go on my ArtSSave trial, I decided to take the plunge. I backed up, did a hard reset and restored. The restore went perfectly. Also, ArtSSave does incremental backups and allows you to restore from any of the saved states. It has other advanced restore features as well, but they are not available in the trial version. So it looks to be a good solution for those who do not have regular access to a PC, or prefer to have the backup always available on the card.

I've tried Version 1.5 of ArtsSave on my mobilePro 800, but continually get a "Create Differences Fail" message anytime I try to backup.

Any ideas?
