I just spotted this over on Pocket Matrix:
Quote
This guy here has written a joystick/gamepad driver for the pocket pc
(actually was written for the LOOX
)
The gamepad i found that works with all axis and buttons is the "Gravis gamepad pro USB"
(I tried alot of gamepads
)
(was also told that the original Microsoft sidewinder USB works the same
)
Here is the driver to download. You must follow these instructions in order for everything to work. Once done and plugged in, you will see a message saying "gamepad connected"
copy it to your E830's Windows folder and enter the following to your registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\HID\LoadClients\Default\Default\1_5\Gamepad]
"DLL"="hidgamep.dll"
finally do a soft reset and attach the gamepad.
And don't forget to unplug the client calble from the PC otherwise it won't work.
The driver simply maps generic y and x axis to up,down,left,right and buttons 1-8 to Numpad 1-8.

This is clearly for PPC2003SE, but I am wondering if it works under a 4.x'er with a USB host port? Any takers?
Could be entertaining.
