| I bought one on eBay recently for $38. I asked the seller if he had any others, but alas, that was the only one he had. |

before I order three cells, Can I order three 2400mAh cells, or must I order exact the same cells? The 6651 now has three 1800mAh cells.
Is there a way to find out that the cells in the batterie are no working anymore?? I mean, if I replace the cells, does the 6651 will work again?? How can I be sure that not the 6651 or the print in the 6651's batterie is broken?

| you can order 2400 mAh's. but there's a side effect, the intermec will not be able to tell you the charge level. i found out this only now. no one ever mentioned this before
maybe with 1800 mAh's it would still tell you the charge level, maybe not.
you can find out if the intermec is dead or not, by using another battery.. |

oke thanks for the info.
Can you see when the batterie is low, or does the 6651 shutdown when the batterie is low without any warning?? And does the batterie use all the power (so the whole 2400mAh ), or does it only uses the 1800mAh which is in the standard cells?
EDIT:
I'm sure that the 6651 is working
Don't ask why, but with the batterie and charger attached the 6651 is working 100% Only the batterie can't hold a charge, so if the power is disconnected for one seconde the 6651 is resetted (no backupbatteries ).
Tomorrow I try to get three new cells here in the Netherlands, ortherwise I buy them from batteryspace (and pay 35 USB for shipping ) Edited by theodouma 2006-08-01 1:53 PM

| i'm not sure but they say there's absolutely no indication of remaining charge when discharging or even when charging it up. the charge led will stay lit.
it does use the whole 2400 mAh as far as i know.
wow, so it works?! WOW!! |

| How To ?
Regarding refurbishing with batteries from batteryspace.com. Does anyone have a HOWTO on how this is done ? I've just ordered one from he UK seller on eBay who seems to have a good supply. I presume the battery will be fairly friend by the time I get it and would like to have an idea of how to replace it.
Is the replacement easy ? Does it use he current battery space or will I be left with a big chunk of battery dangling. Is there a reason I can't use a universal battery pack and just plug it in to the AC socket ?
Thank you for any responses |

| Theoretically, you can use a universal battery pack, but only if the following conditions exist: 1 ) the pack can be set to supply the correct voltage; and 2 ) the pack includes an adapter that fits the H/PC's power supply port. (I have a universal battery pack that I got from Laptops for Less, but it can only supply between five and nine volts. [There is a switch to adjust the voltage on the pack.] Nine volts is just about enough to power my NEC 790, but higher voltages are required to power my NEC 800 and Intermec 6651. ) |

hpcnec.com has a howto on rebuilding a nec 790 battery
if you ordered 18650 sized cells and your hpc's battery has 18650 cells in it, they will fit easily. |
