Hey guys I have another question can my NEC MobilePro 800 have the HPC2000 system because I have seen that it has more compatibility than the system that it has which is Windows CE 2.11 so if someone knows please tell me.

I think only the MP 880 can be upgraded to HPC2000 via a MP 790 ROM chip, although I think USB functionality is lost...

Is there anyway to get USB functionality back? Are the drivers just deleted? If so could I write my own, or something?

No one here's been able to restore USB functionality after replacing the 880 ROM chip with the 790 chip. It seems that the 790 ROM has some, but not all, of the necessary files to control the USB port, while all the necessary files are included in the 880 ROM.

There were tons of threads on this a few months ago, and I don't recall what files are missing in the 790 ROM. (I think Rich knows.) I also don't know where to get hold of the missing files elsewhere (on an unrelated note, I've been looking for another DLL file called commdlg.dll, which seems to be missing in my Palm-size PCs), nor am I aware of a desktop utility that can copy files placed in a CE device's ROM.

commdlg has to do with the print dialog iirc, no wonder it isn't present on your pspc's.
