I've used both the HP 360LX and the Velo 1 (I can't speak for the Sharp HC-4100 and I believe the Ericsson MC-16 is a version of the 360LX, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong). In my opinion the HP 360LX is the better one.
If I were you, I would go for a CE 2.0 or higher device, so you can utilize ActiveSync 3.8, also, I would not recommend the Velo 1, because of PCMCIA, unless you get the hard to find adapter, and the DRAM and Miniature Cards, I believe are hard to find... I would go for the other three, but maybe the MC-16 (I believe is the same as the 360LX), the 360LX (which I have) or the Sharp HC-4100 (From what I heard is good typing on for an earlier device)...
The 360LX and MC-6 are the same subset, the ROM's are different and the chassis colour is different.. 66MHz, white backlight and runs off of AA's. Also uses standard hp sync cables making it easier to find new leads.
i'm biased but i'd recommend the 4100. even though the 360lx has as many good features as the 4100, the keyboard is too incomfortable for me on the 360lx/mc16. so that is my bias, the usability of the keyboard. also the 4100 is faster.... but you must love that white backlight on the 360lx/mc16... & dual slots. but i think i already listed these advantages / disadvantages recently lol
