Ca't connect my Compaq 2000C to my PC :((

my Compaq when i enter PC LINK says Connecting to Host - retry ,2,3,4,
and my PC says COM1 -avialable and i can't conect... i got WINDOWS 2003 and ActiveSync 3.6 (I tried 5 ActiveSync versions , but the same thing) and it say's Your Device was not Detected? cold be from the cable? the cable is New (

can you try infrared maybe? you sure you're connecting through COM1? oh and you don't need to start pc link on the unit. just connect it to the pc with the cable and wait for activesync to detect it. proper order: connect cable to device, turn device on, connect cable to pc.

Firstly, 2003 wasn't specifically meant for this
If you have rras running, it'll get in the way
If you have ad running, it could get in the way

Install AS 3.8 - support > sync soft

Disable any incoming connectivity - com may be allocated against a dun vpn connection

Do not fiddle the port speeds on the server or HPC - if you have uninstall the com ports on the pc and reset it to 19,200 on the HPC.
