Does it have no touch screen? How do you use the cursor?

Is there GAPI support? If so we can get a lot of console emulators to work on it...

What frequencies are supported by the GSM/GPRS? Tri-band, quad-band?

I know the deal is over but I'm still curious

I thought that hagisbasheruk already had trade but he didnt.. There are a lot that happens to gizmondo now, and there are many emulators.
Here are some downloads: http://www.deschain.co.uk/gizfiles/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=1
You use the "up" "down" "left" "right" buttons to move the cursor, and "play" to click or rightclick.
The other questions should you find here: www.gizmondoforums.com

EDIT: I dont want to trade my giz anymore

no touch screen, no gapi support yet. coz no noe treated it as a ce.net pda before.

there is gsm/gprs function, but no telephony function, ie u canot use it to make calls. ori. specs were for multi-player gaming or things like that. the same applies to its BT.

the Giz is also new to me. i just browsed some forums. but at least 99% of what i said above is correct.

but u have to seek confirmation with official specs. but there are hard 2 find now coz no more official website for giz

update on Giz Files, there is still the official manual. have a look. previously i read

Gizmondo Navigator User Manual
Description: Latest user guide for the Co-Pilot software.

Version: Filesize: 0 bytes
Added on: 24-May-2006 Downloads: 113
HomePage | Rate Resource | Details

Gizmondo User Guide

i thought 0 byte means no file at all. but just now, i clicked on it and the dl windows appears. yah, files still there. go have a look

Here are some specs from gizmondo.com (google cache: http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:S3OLfzBF8_8J:www.gizmondo.com/unit/specifications.asp+gizmondo+specifications&hl=sv&gl=se&ct=clnk&cd=13
And maybe we can call to other phones with it if we unlock the bluetooth and use a bluetoothheadset.

Yes there is GAPI support and Fred at wincesoft may be making a custom GAPI for the Giz also
GSM tri-band
GPRS Class 10
Cursor movement via Dpad
The best place to find out about the gizmondo is @ www.gizmondoforums.com they have 2500 members that will tell you everything you want to know.

Also there is a custom GWES on the way with XPstyle and a full control panel
I am testing it just now and it rocks !

Thx for the answers!

A more probably generic question: does the "smart adds" version hinder any of the usage?

I'm particularly interested in using it as a genesis/snes/etc emulator I take it that the giz should be able to do that with full framerate? And it seems to have good buttons etc, right?

TBH 320x240 isn't particularly useful for a CE machine, so gaming is prolly the only thing I'll use it for... ok maybe GPS too if I can get it to work

the company behind gizmondo and smart ads is DEAD and DEAD. It is gone. So u are buying a gadget without official waranty.

of coz, this is not problem for many 2nd-hand devices.

so, dont worry about the ads issue. it is not touchable anymore, even u want to use it.

The Smart Adds never took off which is a pity as it looked quite usefull.
A lot of the GP2X Developers have made emulators for the Gizmondo
DrMD the Genesis,Master System and Game Gear Emulator is said to be the best Emulator out there now.
Snes,Nes,GBA,GBC,GB,NeoGeo,Amega,C64 loads
Quake ,Duke em Nukem,Wolfenstine,Doom all the usual homebrew stuff but runs better than most
Games are outstanding on the Gizmondo, much better graphics than PSP and thats no joke, check out Colors and Chicane
GPS is great on this and i just got route 66 GPS software working on the Giz today
320 x 240 isnt too bad and its a great size for your pocket, great for bus trips ,Video(Divx AVI etc) MP3 Ogg ect.
An we just got .Net Compact Framework Ver2 working Yesterday so that opens it up to loads of applications and development.
COLORS

Chicane

Thx guys for the info.

Anyone know how well the emulators run? I mean if it runs full framerate etc.

And I see there's a Playstation emu in the works... if it can use the 3D hardware properly it could be fast too. I just hope the emu will take off though, because that could open up a massive library of 3D games.

I see the graphical powers of the Giz, but it's a shame that not many games will make use of it. If I manage to buy a Giz I'm surely getting Pocket Ping Pong!
