I have been trying to install Mobipocket - both versions 4.7 and 4.8 onto my HP360lx - they install, but will not run. Indeed, at the end of the installation, a splash screen reports that they did not install properly.

I've searched this forum - and according to past posts 4.7 and 4.8 should be able to install on a Windows CE 2.0 device.

Is the problem that I am installing to the storage card? It is such a large file of more than 1mb, that I don't have room for it in RAM.

I don't have a specific cab file for 4.8 or 4.7 - the set up files just have your regular sh3, mips and arm cab files. How do you find 4.8 or 4.7 files specifically for handhelds?

I'm working on trying to install Mobipocket Reader on my newly-acquired Mobilon. I'll let you know if I have any luck.

CE Geek, congrats on your Mobilon. Did you get the 4100 or one of the color models? Start a new thread about it--we don't have enough about this Sharp.

It's an HC-4500 (color) as noted in my sig. (I'll start a thread on it later.) Oh, and Mobipocket Reader seems to work on it - but it always seems to work slowly in all my H/PCs.

Do you have specific cab files for handheld? I can install mobipocket on my HP360lx - but it will say at the end of the installation that it did not install properly. And when I try the .exe file, it won't open. Maybe during the installation - the cab file is looking for some pre-existing files in /Windows???

Slowly in what way? Start up, opening a book, scrolling through pages?

I'm only asking because I haven't noticed it running slow on my 720/728!

It seems to be slow opening books (though I've tried it primarily in 2.11), and it takes forever to exit unless I use Alt+tap on the taskbar.

quiche: Yes, I have the CAB files, but they're way too big to attach. But if you have tried the installer, the CAB files should be deposited in \Program Files on your PC.

I've tried a few different downloads of Mobipocket 4.7 and 4.8 and installations on the handheld. And with just the cab files too. But none has worked. All the cab files seem like generic sh3 cab files - and not specifically labelled for hpc.

The ones I have are specifically labeled for H/PC. I'll e-mail the SH3 one to you.
