yeah tcpmp, and use GAPI (wincesoft.de), faster for video playback than GDI.

then, irc client, ircce, wmirc, zsirc, i guess these should all work. i tested ircce. the others are ppc programs but should have no real problem running (ok i didnt check out the latest versions of zsirc so who knows)
only zsirc is free out of these. pocketirc may work with some extra hacks.

you mean rss reader? search on the forum, someone made one

nobody knows a better program to make, receive and manage calls?

It seems to support the standard TAPI interface... It may be possible.

Strange... mine recieves them fine when the program is running. However, the device does have to be switched on for this work and GPRS must be disabled.

I'd like to thank C:Amie for helping me get new cells into my Smartbook. Using 1970Mah cells gives approx 4/5 hours of use, so the device lives up to its description.

now my g138 has 2600 mAh cells and kicks ass

I think that may be my next step. The G138 uses power too fast when in suspend (i'd guess its trying to keep that 128MB of RAM going).

I just got a G138 from a frient and am trying to find a VNC client that will work on it.
So fa I have tried VNCview, which starts up fine, gets to the point where it asks for the IP address, but after you enter it it just sort of flashes away - almost as though it has run off to run on another display (the unit seems to hold it open or something as you can't deete the file until you reset the unit)
