Spinned from "Just for Laughs"

This is sad ... either they cannot get their hardware and specs right, or they are not interested in selling to consumers!!

Say, do you think we have 50 buyers for SmartBook? If so, maybe we can bundle and get a quote from one of them. They may be more interested when we have *real* numbers.

SmartBook G138 (indicate your expected price)

Great idea.

You can put HPC:Factor down for a review model.

Not me

But you mean the "Buy it Now" option right?

The reserve is a hidden base bid that the seller sets. The seller can refuse to deal with the winning bid if it is lower than the reserve.

I'd say that is a fair price for a brand new (not used)
If it lowers again I would need to find a UK friend to buy it for me lol

Guys, check it out: £240 and reserve met!

Now that is the price ($560 CAD) I am willing to pay, even if I have to pay for shipping from UK.
If only I live there or have a friend there :\

Looks like they have at least a few left.

I am intrigued by the SmartBook but have not been able to find an objective review anywhere on the web. Has anyone seen a non-seller description/review? Or, has had personal experience with it?

There are a couple of reviews in Chinese.
One particular one had dozens of high res pictures (so you can at least look). The comments weren't very helpful anyway I got the impression the reviewer was not familiar with CE-based devices, not even Pocket PCs, if you know what I mean.

If you want I can search for the page.

Had the opportunity to test the demolux dbook1 last year, basically the same hardware as Book Digital Smartbook G138. Book Digital is the Chinese manufacturer, the Smartbook is sold in different countries with different labels (Zupera Smartbook, Coxion Webbook...). Main difference is the built-in software, so I have no clue what applications you would get with Book Digital's original Smartbook. demolux offered both a German localized CE.NET 4.1 and CE.NET 4.2 bundled with Textmaker and Planmaker - quite good.
My impressions on the hardware:
++ very good TFT display
+ incredibly fast for a SA1110 machine, a lot faster than Jornada 720 due to the more powerful graphics chip, but of course too slow compared to XScale machines
+/- keyboard is good, but exotic placement of German special characters
+/- not really an eyecatcher in case design is important for you
- only one slot for storage or i/o cards
-- lousy plastics body, looks lousy, feels lousy, sounds lousy...
In case you're interested in the complete review (only in German, sorry), you're welcome
