And, CE Geek, how is playback quality, or have you not tried that yet? I mean the framerate, etc.. Not including the picture that mentioned earlier..

Yeah, I put the videos on the Storage Card. There are even links for some samples on the PocketTV site. (But I can't even get them to work in the CE 2 version. )

Strangely, the color is fine if I set Wodeon to anything but 256 colors. (But I think I forgot that the color Mobilons have 4096 colors - or do I remember wrong?) But it definitely can't handle the framerate. I'm gonna see what I can do with the videos with DVDCatalyst.

So maybe I do remember wrong. I thought I'd seen somewhere that the color Mobilons had 4096 colors. But if it's 256 colors, it's weird that the color looks normal in Wodeon in every color setting except 256 colors.

Yes, I also have problem with Wondeon. If i don't run on 4096 colors or more, picrute is terrible (wrong colors). But on 16 bit color (where colors are best) sharp is too slow to play movie (it looks like a slideshow :-) ) MPEG player included with device don't works (it shows me an error that file is damaged). PocketTV crashes when I load a movie.

That sounds just like what i'm experiencing. I suspect that trying to run MPx files (.mpg, .mp3, etc) is just a stretch for CE 2, period. Still a cool device, though.

CEGeek - do you think you would have fared better if you had bought a Mobilon HC-4600 instead? What's the difference between the two models?

I think some connection may be loose (or faulty and overheating) inside. The device stopped working at one point yesterday even though the battery had just been fully charged. I'd change the battery back and forth with no success - the charging light would blink twice with both batteries and then stay off. I opened the device up and probed around, but didn't see any signs of broken or damaged connections. I put it back together, and it then appeared to charge the battery - the charging light stayed on. I was able to turn in on again, but now the display was full of dull vertical lines that resembled woodgrain - kinda like when you're getting a weak signal on your TV antenna. I went back inside a couple of times to see if I missed anything, but again found nothing. A couple more hard resets during this process, of course - but the lines are still there. (I can minimize the problem visually by adjusting the contrast and brightness, but I can't eliminate it.)

I'm thinking about maybe looking for another one. I like this little device, but I don't like having to worry each time I push the power button whether it will work or not.
