Just a question really...
Would it be possible to compile Kate
(from KDE
), or TinyKate, with all syntax highlighters, for CE.net 4.2? If so, is anyone up to doing it?

Sure, it's possible - you just need to provide a similar environment, and provide all the appropriate calls that KDE provides.
Shouldn't take you much more than a few man-years?
