Hey All

I'm putting my hunt for a HPC on hold for a bit. I've recently, after 3 years of planning and design, have finally built up enough confidence to build a little project of mine.

I'm looking for a PDA, preferably with a color screen, and a processor at around 133mhz. One thing that is must NOT have is one of those "graffiti" screen inputs at the bottom. It must have a full touch screen

I don't care about the condition of the case, as in actuallity, I'll just be using the screen and motherboard....

Price: Below $50USD

Lets hope my project works!

So you want a Pocket PC? What kind of project are you doing? And why not an HPC?

Yup, a Pocket PC would suffice, Or a palm based system as long as it doesnt have that "graffiti" input on it......The reason for not wanting to use a HPC for this project, is that, well, i think for what im using, would be over kill...

...As for the project itself......I can't speak too much of it, but rest assured, it will be interesting...

Would a Palm Size PC suffice? It is the Pocket PCs predecessor and they are much cheaper than Pocket PCs usually.. They run either CE 2.01 or 2.11

And we've figured out how to get a bunch of Pocket PC apps running on it.

Ahh. when you say PalmsizePc, are you reffering to things like the Jornada 580? series, looks like a palm but runs, WinCe?.....I completly forgot about those.....Quick question about them. Is there alot of documentation and tutorials on developing for WinCE?

No, the Jornada 580 is a Pocket PC.. The Jornada 430 was a Palm Size PC, its basically a Pocket PC with an HPC interface.. This should help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm-size_PCs

Hi, I have a Zayo PocketPC that runs, the battery is just lousy. It doesn't have a silkscreen input area.

Hardware Specs:

Processor: Intel PXA-250 400MHz
Memory: 64MB SDRAM (256Mbit 16bit-width 100MHz SDRAM x2), 32MB Flash Rom
Display: 3.5 Reflective 320 x 240 16-bit Color-TFT (QVGA), 0.22 DPI
Audio: 3.5mm Stereo Mini Jack
Power Input AC100-240V, Output DC5V 2Amp 10Watts, Polymer Battery (1 cell, 3.6V, 1250mAh)
Size: 4.9 x 2.9 x .5in (125 x 75 x 12.8mm)
Weight: 4.9oz (140g)

There's more info and a picture of one like it here: http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/review/razor_zayo_a600_pocket_pc_review

We could probably sell it for under $50US.

Please feel free to message me off-board.

Cheers,
Diranda
