| Hi boys,
I have a GPS unit purchased O/S. At the moment it is running smrt2go maps from the SDC card. It doesn't have a bluetooth or pc connectivity. I opened the unit and there is a port space for the USB but it is not connected. I'm not sure if soldering a USB on will work?...maybe?
So far the only thing I can get working is FilemanCE2, by renaming the fileman.exe to naviagtion.exe This is just a simple file manager. Even though most of the menus are in Chinese! I am able to explore.
My processor is ARM920T running win CE 4.2.
As I don't have a connection to my pc I cant run activesync. I thought using wceload with the CAB files is the same thing?? or am I on the wrong track?
I don't have wceload on my unit, is this downloadable?
I am trying to load tomtom or destinator from my sd card using .cab files...again am I on the wrong track!???
Thanks ms Alex |

| Thanks for your replies, cmonex I have pm'd you.
The GPS is a generic one. Looks like Navman but has no branding on it. The only details I know are what I can gather from the manual and/or the system.
I believe it is Samsung 2440A CPU, 300MHz or 400MHz.
The maps I was using OS worked fine, but they are not available here, hence my efforts! I don't have a lot of experience with WinCE, but from what I can gather I can't see why it wouldn't work?
Thanks |

| I have seen a unit on ebay branded HOLUX GPSmile51. it is running ce 4.2, Centrality Atlas processor at 200 MHz and has destinator running on it.
Does the processor type dictate what software is compatiable?
Cmonex, did you receive my pm?
Thanks

| Hello everyone,
Cmonex I have tried wceload, it is associated with cab files, but it is coming up with an error message. The OS language is in chinese but it looks like a "Not a valid win ce program/operation" type of message.
Do I need any .dll files for wceload to work?
I sent destinator an email asking if their product works on win ce 4.2. They said yes but it needs 'to be specifically ported to that device from our head office'! huh!!! |

yeah destinator will work on most devices, i use the PN version (5.x.x something ), on cenet 4.1.
about wceload, you mean if you start wceload.exe manually it will throw the same error at you?
if that is the case try to check it with executabilitycheck from my site and report what it said about wceload. |

| Hi cmonex,
Just ran executabilitycheck and clicked wceload.
I'm not sure what is supposed to happen here?
I clicked rewrite lib name and it came up with:
ceshell.dll
commctrl.dll
coredll.dll
Sorry again, I'm not sure what this means...does it mean I'm missing these dll's? |
