| I am looking for a C++ compiler (possibly with an IDE, I'm not bothered) that will run on my device. I don't want the development kit for running on Windows, or any other development kit for other platforms. If anybody knows of any useable compilers to run on the device, I'd like to hear about them. Thanks, |

| There's a Pocket PC version of GCC that reportedly runs on Handhelds. I have no clue what it's about or if there's any chance of it working. You'd most likely have to compile the source yourself, but might be worth a look.

| As I recall, regardless of the processor, Pocket PC apps do not run on CE 2.0 (yet)

| As far as C++ IDEs go, you could use CEdit. Edited by mscdex 2006-09-18 7:38 PM

| Underneath Handhelp PC, it says Jornada 680/690. Will that still run on a 620LX?
EDIT:
Oh wait, I found it now.

| Does CEdit compile, or just edit?
It's not much use to me if it's just for editing. |

| it's very difficult to find a compiler for multiple processors that would be on-board. It's most likely to be just for editing, without seeing it I can tell it is like that. |

| CEdit is just for editing purposes. However, a new version of cegcc was released Sept. 6, 2006. Looks like it works via cygwin though. But, I'm not exactly sure with this latest version if you're able to target other CPU types besides ARM, without installing cygwin and finding out Edited by mscdex 2006-09-23 4:02 AM

| Thank you all ever so much for trying to help, but that's still not what I'm looking for. I can already compile code on a PC for the handheld. I want to compile code on the handheld. |
