Hello,

I'm located in the United States, California, and I would like to buy an HP Jornada 720,728 (728 Preferred). I'm looking for a basically, brand new Jornada with the dock, stylus, charger, software, and usb cable. My price range is between 50-96 dollars (US).

Thanks,
Big-O

You'll likely not get many bites at the price range yiou have stated. Have you looked at eBay to see what's available?

Good Luck with that! Unless you find someone who is really generous, you'd be really lucky to find one at that price. I couldn't find a 728 in brand new condition for under $290 USD....and settled on a 728, used but good condition for $150. I was looking for a friend this week, and even the 680s were more than $50 USD.

Don't feel completely defeated.......keep your eye on eBay and maybe you might bid on a low auction and win. I can say you most definitely won't find a 728 for that price range...a 720 is definitely pushing....you'd find a 680 for closer to that, and that's stillpushing it for ebay. You may have to put some feelers out on craigslist or some other obscure electronics site where someone who isn't into electronics, acquired it, and just wants to get rid of it because they don't know how to use it. There are some of those floating around. You'll just have to explore.

Alright, I've found an ebay auction, it's under 100 dollars, right in my target range, it ends tommorow, so please, don't bid on it.
I can only hope that my n64 plus around 10 games will cover 79 bucks for the other chunk of the cost.

Not to ruin your hopes even more, but I got an N64 with about 10 games 2 years ago at a yardsale for US$10.

(That included mario kart and zelda)

I just got my replacement 728 from techSMARTZ on eBay for $190 BIN. But I did see one NIB go for $231.

That's where I just got mine from....unfortunately, he only put 1/2 of the a/c adaptor in the box...so now i'm waiting on the other half. The outer case was scratched up....but, it works great.

I went all the way and made a best offer on a brand new, still sealed Jornada 728 form the same guy at techsmartz. He had a buy-it-now for $439 but I made an offer for $300 and he accepted. I got it a couple days ago and it was indeed factory sealed. Plastic covering everything, all the stuff there, worth the extra money to not have a "refurbished" unit in "excellent condition" that was all beat to...well, you know what.

They seem to be selling NIB 728s for a broad price range, even BIN.

I think the key thing you need to be looking out for, and why there are vast differences in price, is that techsmartz is the only guy selling "sealed" NIB 728's. The other sellers are selling NIB, but the seals are broken and they've all been opened.

No, I'm saying that TechSMARTZ seems itself to be offering a wide price range among several units on eBay.

Yeah, I think that he's selling sealed units, opened NIB units, and it also seems like he moves items from his eBay store to the auctions area. I got one of the sealed units and I'm very happy with it. I was a Palm OS guy from the beginning in 1996 and missed the whole H/PC thing. When I went over to the Windows Mobile side, I started right in with Pocket PCs. I think the 728's are great units and I'm looking forward to exploring all the possibilities available.
