| WiFi card question. Been watching e-bay for a wifi card with the same part number as the Lucent Orinoco Silver PC24E-H-FC. Will all the cards with the PC24E-H-FC have the same compatability? I've noticed there are several cards that share the same part number. |

yes the ppc (normal qvga ppc without keyboard ) is unusable for IM, i tried it on a dell axim x5 for fun and got a headache after 5 minutes |

I went for the genuine Lucent card. CmoneX rightly points out not to get an Avaya or Proxim since these sporadically exhibit incompatibility issues.
Problem is there are so many Lucent chipset WiFi cards it's difficult to know which ones are fully compat and which ones require lots of stuffing around to get to work.
So, I just cut through the bs and only looked at getting a genuine Lucent. Edited by Britty 2006-10-05 9:08 AM

they are usually no good for ce 2.0 and the question is about a ce 2.0 machine
and it is not "anaya", you spelt that wrong, it is "avaya" in reality Edited by cmonex 2006-10-05 9:35 AM

| I bought a used Agere card - it is suppose to be Orinocco. So far so good. I installed the software on my 360lx and then put in the card - and it read the card right away. But I have not been around any hotspots to test it further. |
