I recently bought a notebook w irDA device (no serial port), so i tried to make a partnership via activesync 3.8. I recently found over hereinfo about how to make a parnership via irDA , but i had no luck. I also tried w my 620lx and i couldnt conect it either. Anyone knows how to make a parnership via IR? Both of my handhelds use Windows CE2.0 and my notebook has WinXP Home SP2.

In Communications Control panel on the HPC, did you set for IrDA sync? Can your notebook already see it's IrDA port?

And i forgot to mension in the last post, i tried to sync via serial in a desktop computer recently and i had no problems(in the 620lx and the 360lx). I tried to IrDA in the same computer (via a usb-IrDA adapter) and i also had no luck.

Are you engaging PC-Link on HPC and ActiveSync connect wizard at same time? Are both IrDAports facing each other?

Have you checked the settings under "Infrared Devices" in the PC's Control Panel? It might be set to the wrong transfer rate or something along one of those lines.

Wait - I'm confused. You said your notebook has XP, but the screen images are from a Mac.

I think it's a Mac skin on Windows using WindowBlinds or StyleXP or something similar. Macs don't have "Paint" or "Device Manager."

The image didn't come up very clearly on my PC screen when I clicked on it, so I couldn't read the text very well. Sorry.

I was thinking maybe the transfer rate was set to something other than 115200 Kbps.

What make/model is your notebook? Your OEM may have released an update to the IrDA...

LOL - I was looking for something a bit more specific, like the name of the driver (eg, SigmaTel, etc).
