Trying to install VimCE on my Jornada 720. Did every thing said on "http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/wince/vim.html".
But when I ran it, it does not have a menu (in the snapshort on the webpage it has a menu).
And it can't open or create any file. When I type ":sav filename", it says "E212: Can't open file for writing". And if I type ":e filename", it says "E303: Unable to open swap file for 'filename', recovery impossible".
I've tried cold reset. It doesn't work.
Any advice please?

Yes, I know how to use vim. Most of the commands work (like copy and paste). All the commands that need to open or create a file don't work.
So does your vimce have menu?

Have you read and set up the registry variables required?

Yes, I've changed the registry. Chiark, could you tell me if your vimce has a menu?

No, it doesn't have the menu. Funny, I'm sure I remember it having it.

Names are case sensitive as this is a posix application... so :e /Storage Card/README-WINCE.TXT will work, whereas :e /Storage Card/readme-wince.txt won't!

erm, therein lies the rub - I couldn't swear to it. To be frank, I think I was on a different machine last time I used it, too!

I'd try the WinCE2.11 versions too, as I'm sure the menus were working... I could be imagining it, but I'm pretty sure they were there!

Got the menu working. Some micro files are needed to show the menu.
