| Thanks Cmonex. Unfortunately I won't be able to give you any feedback as I don't have any CE 5 device... |

Hmm, I have the nasty feeling that CE 5 is a bit like Vista ( vs XP ): I hear many complaints about compatibility issues... Applications that used to work fine on CE 3 or CE 4.x don't work on CE 5... Any other CE 5 users with similar experiences...?
In the meantime, try to install the regular TCPMP V 0.72:
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/
Use the PocketPC version of the player:
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab
Please report your findings
I have got a MIO C320 Navigation system running a stripped CE 5.0.
It has troubles with programs like Total Commander etc, won't run execheck
but runs V 0.72 fine and fast - better, faster screen than the 900C. |

Indeed, Vista sucks... i'm using it on my company laptop, but its been giving me nothing but grief after the initial "wow" of the new interfaces

try this attached player.exe (from hpc mediaplayer 1.07, just patched it)
Thanks, it works great! So this version is exactly the same as the latest 1.07 except for some CE version check?
Geared2003 -> Thanks for the great work you have done with the interface... this is much nicer! Edited by quasar 2007-12-28 6:15 AM

my suspicion is that a patch would be very easy. for some reason tcpmp doesn't want to recognize devices with a CE OS version higher than 4.21 .. try this attached player.exe (from hpc mediaplayer 1.07, just patched it)
p.s.: i faintly recall patching this before, i don't remember if i ever posted it though or if it did then i don't remember feedback. so i'd appreciate some, thanks
TCPMP_Media_Player_0.81RC1Beta.cab works great on my CE 5.0 ARM device (only tested playing some new XviD releases ).
I just need to find where to download the .flv plugins etc. |

|
| I just came across this version and I've got to say it Rules! I can't believe I've been using TCMP all this time.
I really like its looks and adding subtitle support was brilliant!
Thank you very much!
P.S: Could someone tell me if I should use "Direct" or "GAPI"? I don't see any changes on the performance. What about the "Microdrive" and "Interlaced modes"? I'm on a J720, 32mb, 2GBCF |

|
| for J720 defo GAPI... big improvement...
try a demo mpeg and benchmark it I never got any better performance from microdrive mode (but again benchmark it on and off - may help if you have slow CF card ).

| Hi,
I found a new player based on tcpmp. This one renders every other
tcpmp version pretty useless (sorry ).
Just wanted to share it with you to show what a liltte programming on the
interface.plg can achieve.
It is made by shinco. There are 2 versions: 480x272 and 320x240
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=110760
I think it will be hard to beat with any player for wince
Cheers |

| Great find ! I am going to play with this new package, and see if skinning can be implemented for other HPC devices...
Their default skin also needs some improvement... |

|
| Thanks. For the 320x240 version I changed today some paths in intercafe.plg.
You can have 4 base paths (Like "Flash Disk" "Storage Card" etc).
The new interface.plg is repackaged in the 320x240 version (today)
Would be nice to have the top menu bar with the settings avaiable again.
The 480x272 version I got from Hitachi.
The 320x240 version I got from Shinco.
It took a lot of downloads to get them. But here we are.
Perhaps one of you can unlock that menu in interface.plg.
Cheers

can't wait, ... as I'll remove EVB anyway, I'll have space to put that in v3. |

This is my new skin...
The taskbar at the bottom is also new: its not based on Wisbar/Gigabar. It is a new feature of my updated Gshell project. (New Skin.jpg) Attachments ---------------- New Skin.jpg (43KB - 18 downloads) |
