Geared2003:

I got your previous version and liked the additions you made and that the WMV support are plugins, rather than the codecs in other TCMP versions.

What was the bug? I have one to report on my Jornada 720- Anytime the files I'm playing back advance, the volume reverts back to a default, rather than staying at the level I set. I had a problem with that same thing happening with another Modified TMCP version I got from the internet.

I just finished the download of your update and will test it out. Thanks

Just fired up the new version and still have that volume issue. Any suggestions? I'll open files, press play, move the volume slider up and when it switches to the next track the slider graphic stays put, but the volume level drops back down. I have to tap the slider again to get it back.

I know there is source code, but I am not a programmer. Can you help? Has anyone else encountered this on a Jornada 720? The program is darn near perfect aside from this glitch.

This problem is Jornada specific: the volume level implementation on the Jornada is quite crappy. It uses some HP specific methods instead of standard WinCE volume procedures. There have been many problems reported with various multimedia applications like games and media players that use the regular WinCE sound level adjustments instead of the HP method.
There is a workaround with TCPMP (original or modified):
Go to the options dialog / "Advanced settings" page: uncheck the "use system volume" checkbox. Restart TCPMP.

Now it's perfect! Thanks Geared! Kinda suspected the HP Volume Profiles being the issue. Totally missed that option in TCPMP.

I'm pretty sure Coreplayer Pro/FREE and the upcoming Open source BetaPlayer (Yeah, I know its odd that they brought that name back...) will still support Handheld PC/Windows CE core devices.

They said they can still easily build even the commercial Coreplayer for ARM, MIPS, SH3, SH4, and x86.

I asked them in their #Coreplayer IRC channel and they basicly said that the reason for the delay of the H/PC/WinCE Core version is the skinning support. Appearently the WinCE core version will have skins closer to the desktop Win32 one and they are still working on the Win32 one. I guess the WinCE core one will come out closer to the release of the Win32 one.
