| First of all, regarding the language patch, which one do I use? I have one called "Combined English Files for the S3 v2.0a" and another 0409-C?
Secondly, when trying to run 4.2 and 5.0 apps which .dll's do I use? So far the AYGSHELL 18K version seems to be working along with GX from Wince (GAPI 3.07). I usually execheck and change the OLE and MFC dll's to 400, which seems to work sometimes, but I cannot find a good COREDLL replacement?
Do anyone have a quickquide to Sig3 hacking? |

| I use 409C, that's the best at the moment. as for apps, cmonex is your lady but it would help to tell us what you're trying to run.
Hacking guide? Hopefully something soon! |

| i dont think you should change the mfc's to 400, if they are 300 originally. maybe 301 so as not to cause any conflicts.
wm5 apps sometimes need a cpu id edit, but maybe not all of them... just opera seemed to require it. also, wm5 cabs sometimes won't install, they use anew format, pita trying to install manually
other than that wm5 is no problem so far...
coredll and other stuff is on my site, shame you've never looked around there

| My beta english patch is already better than the 0409c patch. Being beta (and somewhat buggy) software though, I suggest you wait a few more days until I can release a finished version. I do highly recommend you use mine when it's done though. The existing one causes some problems. |

| cmonex I am a frequent visitor of your site, my problem being though as a new Sig3 user, which of the coredll's from your site to use for the Sig3 to get the best result?
And how do you cpu edit? |

coredll: really depends on the application, maybe the readme helps a little though (a little bit outdated, that'll be changed when i get the power supply for my pc ). usually i use the 529K one, works well in most cases. if it doesn't in a specific case let me know and i'll tell you more details |

| The applications that I am especially struggeling with are the emulators
Emulators like:
PocketUAE (Amiga )
CastCE (Atari ST )
PocketGBA (Gameboy Advance )
PocketClive (Spectrum )
SinclairHPC (Spectrum )
has anyone been able to get these to work on a Sig3? |

| whats the problem with these, error message, gapi, anything? |
|
|
|
| Difficult to say really - different troubles I guess?
I use the latest GAPI 3.07 and lock 240x320 mode.
PocketUAE (Amiga) - starts and show GAPI screen then returns to desktop.
CastCE (Atari ST) - have installed version 1.2, but application wont run.
PocketGBA (Gameboy Advance) - latest version with sound wont run - I have managed to get earlier version without sound to work though.
PocketClive (Spectrum) - probably a GAPI issue - screen image on the top of the screen gets garbled and Sig3 freezes.
SinclairHPC (Spectrum) - application will run and I can load a tape image - then you have to "run" the loaded file, but this causes Sig3 to freeze.
I have exechecked all of above and no errors are reported?

| I trust those issues are limited to CE 4.x .net. It's working quite well in my J728 so far. |
|
|
|
| In the meantime managed to get CastCE to work by choosing another gx.dll (the 11.0K one in cmonex' pack) so it seemed to be a gapi issue.
PocketUAE is another thing - nothing happens when you execute the uae.exe - execheck reports a different cpu is required for the pocketuaelauncher.
Are the issues you mention the ones mentioned in another string in the HPC2000 forum? |

pocketuae: heh that sounds interesting. if you load the exe in peinfo (available on my site ), could you tell me what it says for CPU? |
