| I just found a new program that promises to change the monochrome screen of the 2.0 device into color - Color Tweaker - take a look:
http://www.neutrio.com/wince/ColorTweaker/colortweaker.html
Has anyone tried it out yet? Does it work? |

| Huh
I can promise you that it doesn't promise that.
If your H/PC has a mono screen, it is a fundimental hardware limitation that it is not able to display RGB pixel information, it isn't a driver issue. B/W screens don't have the LCD components neded to render a colour image.
This program - which has been around since before I started in H/PC's - is a substitute for the Appearance tab in the desktop settings control panel applet under 2.00 devices. Microsoft added it as de facto in 2.11.
You can still use it to adjust the shading of the GUI (4 shades or 16 shades depending on your device ) |

Yes, I am.
it says:
software :: ColorTweaker
Quick Info
Description: Modify the GUI colors on your color Palmtop
and then about the green thing:
Sick of that dirty green color on your HPC's desktop? Change it with ColorTweaker!
it means the colour CE 2.0 (and 2.11 ) hpc's have an ugly green desktop background by default. (i think the blue in hpc2000 is much nicer! )
and it promises to change that background (and scheme additionally ). |

| It's the screen colour, not the backlight colour of the hp 320 et al |

| It is a cool utility. I have it on my color Mobilon, and it works nicely. The only problem is, if I stick to the default desktop screen, changing the background color doesn't change the area where the Windows CE logo is - that stays the original dull aquamarine color. I'm wondering if there's a way to make that area transparent a la DeSappear. |

| Can't you get rid of the logo in Control Panel - Display Properties. You could take that Logo and redo it - if you want the logo still there. |

| There's a CESD page here about it, but it looks rather complicated. |

ok i don't know how this works on some ce 2.0 machines but couldn't you replace the logo bmp? iirc even ce 2 has the background change ability, just change it there especially if it has the transparent version there.. Edited by cmonex 2006-10-29 5:02 PM

| Most devices have two default images, one the full colour, and one the trasparent (jaggedy) version. Doesn't your Mobilon?
Default and Default_Transparent are the names used |

| There's no Default_Transparent setting in the Display Properties - only Default and the other graphic design backgrounds. I assumed from this that this setting was also added in H/PC Pro. Edited by CE Geek 2006-10-29 5:09 PM

| No, CESDS0026 was written for CE 2.00
I have attached the two 2.11 defaults. I just realised that this thread is in the 2.00 section, heh. They were non-standard under 2.00. (Default.bmp) (Default_Transparent.bmp) Attachments ---------------- Default.bmp (34KB - 2 downloads) Default_Transparent.bmp (4KB - 4 downloads) |

| Neato - I grabbed up the transparent one. I think it is missing from a few devices. Because I remember a while back wanting the logo but not wanting the color and having the same color CEGeek mentioned. |
