Hi all,

I just got my WebDT 375 WedPad today. It's running WinCE.net 4.2, and
it runs on a PXA250 400MHz with a 800x600 screen.

I plan to use it to read e-books, but so far cannot make acrobat reader to work.

If you have any workarounds, please let me know.

I try to use the dll's from cmonex's site, but are they just for NEC MP900 ?

Thanks,
fy789.

did you try the acrobat reader package (for cenet 4.2) on my site? it is not only for nec 900. if that doesn't run, please load the acrobat exe in the execheck program (again, downloadable from my site), and tell me what it says.

the pdf reader in the cenet viewers is nice but adobe opens more pdf's.

cmonex,

I did copy the adobe reader for NEC MP900c to a CF card and run from there, but the machine complains that "Cannot find 'AcroRd32' ( or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available."

I then use execheck on AcroRd32.exe, and surprisingly, nothing happened but a new file AcroRd32.exe_check.exe was created ??

I then run execheck again, and it complains that \storage Card\Acrobat 2.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe is Invalid File.

Looks like exechecck corrupts the original AcroRd32.exe ?

Any Hint ?

Regards,
fy789.

if it says 'cannot find...' then double check whether you copied all the files. my bet is that a file was left out.

delete the check.exe, soft reset, and put execheck in RAM if it wasn't there. then reload acrord32.exe in it and see what it says. and no it doesn't corrupt the acrord32.exe

Hi cmonex,

I delete the execheck, recopy both acroread dir and execheck into the CF and copy execheck into \Program Files, then do a soft reset.

I got the same result:
execheck reports nothing, and a new file AcroRd32.exe_check.exe was created again !

??? Any idea what my machine is doing ?

Thanks,
fy78901.

Inside the acro20_nec.zip, there is an "Acrobat 2.0" directory, and I copy the entire dir into a CF card inserted into the 375 later.

Do you mean I need more DLL other than those in the "Acrobat 2.0" directory ?

Thanks,
fy789.

no, that should be enough. but i now know what the problem is! and it is partially my fault too. that package was done by someone else and i just lazily uploaded it. now i checked it.. and it has a problem, it isn't so well hacked together. i'll edit it and reupload it. until that you can try the cenet 4.1 version - named acro20_phh.zip. that was made by me. let me know if it works!
sorry.

Bingo !

The ce.net 4.2 acrobat package on your website works!

BTW is CE.net 4.2 equal to WM2003 ?

Technically, is it easier to install WM2003 apps on CE 4.2 machines than
to hack HPC2000 apps ? Of course, one needs the appropiate dll's.

Thx,
fy789.

you mean the bsquare phh one worked? cool! (i'll still fix the nec one)

no cenet 4.2 is not wm2003, not at all. wm2003 is a pocketpc platform. hpc2000 apps are closer to your core cenet 4.2, than wm2003 apps. but some wm2003 stuff will work. acrobat is a pocketpc program too

hi cmonex,
I've the same error message "Cannot find 'AcroRd32' (or one of its components)" when I try to run Acrobat Reader Pocket PC Version 2.0. I run Windows CE v3.0 build 126 on a Unitech PA960. The path and filename are ok for the acrord32.exe.
I think I need some dll.
Any package in your website may works?

Thanks,
