| No progress, but now I read out the hole 1st flash flash chip (thaks about 3h ) to "check" if the flash is defect, the RAM should be ok. There are some compilent flash chips on the market, but this is really one of the latest options |

| hmm if the first chip isn't defect - i wonder if cl4 bootloader + cl4 OS (this fits on first chip) would work. (you said jtag can't access second chip) |

| Read the hole fist chip out (0xFF pattern ), 2 byte missmatch, but when I reread this region a 2nd time, the bytes are ok ?  The jtag interface cable is very simple and there is no verification when it reads out the memory, so this can be the problem for this missmatch. I will test it with 0x00 pattern, but latter (it takes to long ).
I will test your idea with the cl4 bootloader and os when the flash seems to be ok  , the RAM difference shouldn't be a problem.
I can't access the 2nd flash chip via jtag |

| Seems they lost some page
Downloading the image over jtag doesn't work
Now I stop working on that Simpad (I have a new one  )
I try to port the RedBoot bootloader to the simpad, maybe this can help me later to bring live back to my bricked simpad
