| Do you have admininstrator permissions on your computer?
Try uninstalling and reinstalling it a few times, if you know your way around the registry delete the HKLM hive for it, if you don't - Don't go there. |

| i'm not sure if this would help. but are you using mobconv by itself or are you using it with mobsync?
in my case, i first installed mobsync, then i installed mobconv on top of it. so try to uninstall all mob applications and then first install mobsync, then install mobconv.
mobsync is free, so that won't cost you anything extra.
thanks,
msafi, |

| When I installed MobSync first then MobConv over it, everything worked like a dream. Thank You...

ok, this is a software question. I have an spreadsheet file in pxl (Pocket Excel ) format. I don't have my HPC (MP790 ) around right now to save it in excel format. How do I use it on a notebook (or PC ) that has Excel running?
Is there a PXL->xls convertor for the PC?
I'm using Excel 2002 on win2k. Any ideas?

| Install activesync and use MS File converter for the H/PC - or sync it over. |

| PTAB opens .pxl files- one of the few areas where it scores over Planmaker. SPREADCE also, I think opens PXL files on the PC, but I find it to be too slow for practical use. They both have free trials you can download.

Hey Sch01ar
I've been using SpreadCE on my 728 for over a year and I haven't found it to be slow at all.
Are you talking about the Desktop version? Edited by Hurricane John 2007-08-21 7:41 AM

| SpreadCE is slow. sometimes annoying when opening bigger xls's. but, it is fast with searching.
Ptab is fast with loading xls's and with searching too.
and pocketexcel opens the xls fast but searches slower.
my favourite is ptab and pocketexcel is very nice too (for my purposes it is enough). |

I don't have PTab, but I have SpreadCE and Pocket Excel
An Excel file with 1,000 records (500k ) stored on a CF card takes :
Pocket Excel - 11 seconds to open
SpreadCE - 3 seconds to open
Pocket Excel is fast...compared to what?
BTW - Which opens files faster - PTab or Planmaker?

| Planmaker is slower to load and use, but you can of course drag and drop selections, which is cool. SpreadCE has an x86 version, which is handy, but is slower navigating larger sheets, IMHO, esp. on the desktop. PTab is a good all rounder, it's pretty swift, but can be quirky. Some cell formatting, etc, comes out wrong. Minor stuff tho.
Pocket excel (like all the native apps, of course ) have my favourite functionality - zooming on ALT-Z! If only there was more of that. I love Listpro, but pages that look great on a laptop sized screen are hopeless on a jornada |

maybe i mixed them up.
in this case spreadce opens the xls faster but searches slow,
and excel is the other way around.
i dont remember which of the two possibilities..
i know ptab was the best overall. (fast with both )
i tested that a while ago with a 1MB xls.
ptab smokes planmaker. Edited by cmonex 2007-08-22 1:24 AM

| Agreed - but no one should know this much about HPC software. Maybe we need to get out more. Cmonex - I bought a soldering iron yesterday. Let me know about those JVC batteries, please, before I do myself an injury.... |

| Does anyone know if Z4Soft (creator of PTab) is still supporting the HPC platform!
There hasn't been an upgrade for quite some time...my guess would be 2 years! |
