I have the original Evesham files, but i highly recommend using Captin's mobilnavigator folder...All you have to do is erase your SD card, put Captin's folder along with any TomTom map folder (I use 665.1293), and boot up...a $400 working TomTom

Ok, just a report.

The TomTom 6 I have also works on the following devices.

HTC Lobster mobile phone, also known as HTC Monet. This device runs Windows Mobile 5 but has no touch screen (it's a mobile (cell) phone). Just put the TomTom onto the memory card with some maps and use a bluetooth GPS unit.

Orange SPV M700, also known as HTC Trinity / HTC P3600 / Dopod D810 / Dopod CHT 9100 / Swisscom XPA v1510 / Vodafone VPA compact GPS / Vodafone SFR S300+ .
This is also a mobile phone/PDA but has a builtin GPS chip and my TomTom runs fine on it.

Will be testing more maps (newer ones) later this week, including Australia and the full set of US Region Maps v665.1294.

I have downloaded around 15gb of maps from the newsgroups so will be testing loads of them.

PLEASE NOTE:

I will no longer be supporting the Nav-Cam 2007 (or any other Nav-Cam for that matter).

My Nav-Cam 2007 died and Evesham will not honour the guarantee as I purchased the sat nav unit in the US, but live in the UK, even though they are an English company.

I wont be getting another as I will be using my new SPV M700 mobile phone, which is a pocket PC and has a GPS unit built-in.

I will leave the Tom Tom 6 file on my site for those peeps who wish to download it (PM me for deets), but I wont be trying out any maps with this version.

UPDATE:

Evesham will now honour the guarantee but it has to be shipped to the US and they will only ship it back to a US address.

Once again I must inform you that I can only supply the fixed TomTom 6 program and not the maps.

The SD card contains all of the programs the Nav-Cam needs. So no SD card No work.

I have a 2gb card in mine (when it was working) they normally come with a 1gb card.

The TomTom program I use works off the card, the UK maps are only around 300mb but the US maps are over 1.4gb.

Most normal Sd cards should work, regardless of the speed, but I'm not sure about the newer HC cards.

Captin,

Your TomTom file works very well with both Nav-Cam 2007 and 7700. It works especially well with the 2007. The only issue with the 7700 is the signal strength bars doesn't seem to work. Thank you very much!

Hi folks.

My first post in just about any tech forum.

I note that you have TT6 working on a Lobster 700tv?

I can't get mine to work. It runs fine on my 02XDA but not the Lobster.

Thoughts?

Sorry I forgot to add. It gets as far as selecting language English UK then when you select yes it gives a message, your device is not compatible with TT Navigator. Continue simply shuts it down.

Frustrating is not the word...

There are a few things to do to get TomTom6 running on the Lobster.

The phone needs to be unlocked to allow it to use unsigned programs.

You need an emulator for the touch screen.

And you need a sorted TomTom 6 like mine.

I have copied Captin's folder to my 4g SD card. I have copied 12 North_America Cab files and 1 North_America.jpg file to the SD root directory. From the Nav-Cam 2007 Main Menu I can hit Navigator ..and Bam the Tom Tom Start Screen. the agree to the legal stuff and OOPS... No Maps Found.

I then tried extracting the files from the Cab files. Now the resulting files are in the North_America folder in the SD root directory.....Same result.

I'm perplexed....what might I be doing wrong?

Thanks Anyone!
