My 1 GB Lexar CF card is behaving strangely. I get5 a Storage Card Warning message when I try to use applications based on it: "The system encountered a storage card error (error code 31). If a storage card was removed, please reinsert it, and then select Yes to retry or No to fail. WARNING: FAiling this error may result in lost data."
Removing and reinserting does not help. Pressing Yes just causes the message to disappear and then reappear.
Pocket Explorer and Total Commander show the card as blank. I tried the card in the other slot and same result. I tried it in my laptop and there was an error, but the files still appear to be there. What should I do?
Tried that hooked up to network and "Windows was unable to complete the format" with Quick Format unchecked, then checked. Same result with the laptop standalone. At least I got my data. Should I be looking at a micro drive instead of CF?
The laptop was hooked up to the network. Since the laptop is my work computer, I wasn't sure if there were company provisions preventing the formatting of a drive while connected to the company network.
