| I'm using a Sharp HC7000 (same as Intermec 6651) OS:HPC2000
Never have I seen the proper version for my gear in www.olivetree.com
Although hpcfactor had fully reviewed their program
yet I never successfully installed the WinCE version (which is classified in Pocket PC field )
It seems that only Jornada(or ARM CPU) can do the job
Is there anyone ever installed the program without failure? |

| Hum, very odd.
I looked in the latest installer and there is a MIPS build for CE3 in it. So it should work.
Is the installer saying "Unsupported device type"? |

| The error message said:
Cannot find 'BibleReader_ce30_mips' (or one of its component)
Make sure the path and fileame are correct and that all the required libraries are available.
I used its installer and put both the program and bibles on StorageCard
There did have the executable program mentioned above and bible directory
No matter how I copy the bibles and the program in the same directory
or even installed in the main memory~~the result is still the same error shown!
I download BibleReader_F061 version
Is it correct that the bible's attached filename is *.pdb??(which looks like the Palm Database File)

| Did you try and use the auto installer or the zip file install?
There is a message on their site that states that there are some known problems with the auto installer on some devices. Try the zip one perhaps.
There is a readme file in it.
I checked the cab in the zip file and the .exe you specified is correctly listed in it, so the error could well be a library issue.
If using the zip installer doesn't help, I suggest you get onto them about it.
I'm not a user of the program so cannot help you any further. |

| I have a jornada 720 (ce3.0) handheld. I also tried to install the ce3.0 olive tree bible reader. I got exactly the same errors . I exchanged several emails with the olive tree people(they take about a week to respond each time). They said I should install their WinCE2.11_hand.zip version. I argued that the jornada is 3.0 but the bottom line is the 3.0 versions is for the pocket pc, not the jornada. The pdb files are pocket database files. The jornada uses cdb database files. The 2.11 version somehow converts them. I sure would like to see the code how. The 2.11 user interface does not have the features that the 3.0 version does but it will run on the 720. you can try this. |

| OliveTree, while free, has been problematic for H/PCs from the beginning. Basically they have all but stopped development on the product for this platform and your only real options are go with the CE 2.11 version.
Understanding it is more expensive, Laridian offers a lot of bang for the buck. They are continuing development too - another plus and another reason to support them.

| Do you know if Laridian is planning to release a KJV with strongs links for the hpc 2000 version? This is what I need. Olive Tree has the Bible version, but the 2.11 user interface is funky. I haven't tried the Laridian demo because I didn't see the version of the Bible I want. |

| I do not know about the KJV but they do have the NASB with Strongs available already.
Let me contact Laridian and see if they plan on doing this.
Thanks, |

| Okay, spoke with Laridian yesterday afternoon and got the story.
Currently they sell the KJV with Strong's numbers already in their Complete Word Study NT Dictionary. Now, this product has the Strong's numbers only, no definitions. And, as the name suggests, it only covers the NT.
They could not confirm if definitions would be added or the OT. I suspect they will but that's just my opinion.

| I'm encountering some difficulties with Olivetree bible reader.
I have a J720 which uses the CE2.11 version. It displays alright and searching the verses is relatively hassle free where you just tap on the selected verse.
However when I installed the CE2.11 version to my MP900, two problems occur:
1) there is a delayed response to if one is using the 3-step verse chooser instead of the single screen list...sometimes it doesnt appear at all.
2) Once selection is made, it doesnt go to that verse you want and it stays at Matt 1:1 all the time.
My question is why does the CE2.11 version work on J720 and not MP900? Is there a conflict somewhere?
I have since uninstalled the CE2.11 and installed CE3.0 bible reader. It seems ok but it doesnt display the verse at the top where for CE2.11 it allows you to choose. |

| I am using Laridian's KJV with Strong's numbers on my Jornada 720 (HPC 2000 v. 3.0 ). It has definitions for both OT and NT. It is sold as KJVEC (King James Version with Strong's Exhaustive Concordance ). The product description is at -
http://www.laridiansales.com/order/productpages/LBKKJVEC01.asp?orde...
The price for the above is $14.95 (in addition to the basic reader module ) as explained on the Laridian pocket Bible catalog page (be sure to select the correct operating system ) -
http://www.laridian.com/ce/catpocketbible.asp
KJVEC works well, although the Strong's access is a little awkward. When the Stong's numbers are shown, the Bible text is displayed in a single verse mode. You must exit Strong's numbers to return to the full passage, move down to the next verse, and then re-enter the Strong's mode. When in the Strong's mode, verses listed as the result of a search also display Strong's numbers.
Hope that helps,

My question is why does the CE2.11 version work on J720 and not MP900? Is there a conflict somewhere?
maybe because the MP900 doesn't have mfcce211.dll in the ROM. i'll send it to you if you would like to have it. or even better, you can download the global mfc redistribution here on hpcfactor, link is http://www.hpcfactor.com/developer/
then copy the mfcce211.dll (ARM version in wce-211 folder ) to Windows folder and that's it. i hope it will solve the problem. |
