i forgot to say something: if you have ppc apps hacked with execheck, you can try using the unpatched versions - install the CAB and see if it works out of thebox. would appreciate feedback

How about Minimo 0.2 for Windows Mobile 5.0? No hacks, no fixes, no nothing Just downloaded the windows exe and installed through activesync to my storage card. Version 0.016 for 4.2 looks a little better, screen size wise, but at least we know it works out of the box

Full screen mode can be toggled on both, getting rid of the bars on the side and bottom. I didn't notice a speed difference really, and ignore the text size, I was messing with that on the WM5 version. They actually are the same size when set at default. And I understand some very clever people live in that city

BentlyTCow: neat stuff
i did know minimo would run out of the box, what about other software that you had to hack before?

as for opera 8.65, sadly the latest 8.65 version (not the betas, those are fine) needs some extra patch (and haven't had time for it yet. soon though). but 8.60 will run (out of the box), and you can still download and even buy 8.60, from opera.com.

BTW I was wondering if you could disable the "Tile image on the background" and make the wallpaper (wich is pretty nice indeed) fit the screen.

well, as soon as i figure out why the system won't accept the full sized background compessed. (it will not fit uncompressed) but i actually like the tiled version more

Anyway I upload the wallpaper with right dispaly dimensions (just convert it to .bmp and disable the "Tile image on background" option).

Those shots of Minimo for WM5 look pretty good. Does it run better than the earlier version?

I didn't notice any difference between the two really. They were both fairly slow. I wanted to try them because IE and ftx didn't show the google maps web page properly, but then neither did either of the minimos. Just need to use the pocket version of the maps I suppose. But speed-wise, I didn't notice anything earth shattering. Maybe the menus took longer to load in the WM5 version. But I could be wrong I didn't use any previous versions so I don't have anything to compare these to.

I did some other projects (Nokia N770 & N800 ) the last couple of months - so I didn't use my handhelds. But yesterday I checked hpcfactor.com for new things on the HPC scene - and I was very pleased that cmonex released the long awaited version 2 of her excellent rom.

One word to describe the rom: WOW!

Works great.. I have installed some must-have applications on the 900c and now I'm going to impress my clients (have a important meeting today) with my old but very improved 900c!

Again my HPC is back in business

Hi all,

Very new to the nec 900c, I just bought mine two month ago when I saw the wonderful work of Cmonex.

I've used the ROM v1.0 during one month and upgraded yesterday for v2.0.

I experience a very strange behavior with the HPC Mediaplayer :
- the screen becomes dark as I try to play an AVI file, no problem with music (MP3),
- the screen remains black even after a soft reset. As I switch on I can see the screen apper during a millisecond and then nothing more -> all dark.

Never had this problem before with v1.0.
Tried also an earlier version of the mediaplayer (TCPMP 0.71 ) : no chance, same problem.

Am I missing something, because I'm very new to the HPC world ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

BTW : if found C# IDE Mobile V9 working like a charm on the 900c , Forward Pass v2 seems OK also.
Many thaks CMonex for having integrated dotNet v2 and evb in the same ROM !!
Both software open a door for development uder the 900c.

This problem has been reported many many times already... It is not V2 specific: it is a 900c problem. You didn't install the latest HPC Media Player (1.07), which includes a fix for this problem. I tried it with V2 ROM, and it works without any glitches.
You will have to Hard Reset your device and reinstall the latest Player version:

Thanks a million CMONEX - for me the mega benefit is being able to exchange Excel files without having to use the dumb 'spreadsheet' bundled with 4.2 ... the other goodies are icing on the cake which I'll enjoy exploring. Have just sent you a contribution via Paypal as a small token of appreciation for the time & effort ...
