media player: all you need is backlight keepalive disabling option, no??

but if i'm wrong let me know.

Yes !!! I have already mentioned it in an earlier post: TCPMP/HPC Media Player works without any glitches if this option is disabled... Why don't people read earlier posts before reporting false alarms concerning bugs in V2 ...?

My latest Media Player distro has no problem at all, because it adds the necessary registry entry to prevent this bug.
The trouble is that the Media Player version on your site is an old one: as long as people continue to download and use it, there will be complaints...

So please, download the latest version (1.07) here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/66668285/MMCE_July20.zip.html

I am trying to think that it would be better to put latest HPC Media Player in ROM to prevent this kind of trouble...

Concerning a picture viewer, the MS one is really limited; I vote for MMCE...!

Geared2003,

Is that really the right link for the media player? It seems to be a comic viewer, among other things, if the description is correct.

Regards, Don

Of course people can bypass this issue using alternative software. However I like using CorePlayer and Resco Picture Viewer and it's a pity that I can't use them anymore (out of the box).

Yes - it's a bit strange that you can't use Resco Picture Viewer HPC version. It should be possible to run real HPC programs - I can live with the fact that some PPC programs don't work.

About Resco: I love the albums function of Resco. Create a album on your PC and use it on your HPC... very cool (i think!)

Well, i would rather see runtimes, dll's, and essentials in ROM. The microsoft stuff can stay, the pictureviewer works ok.

Other stuff can live on the Internal Disk. That way cmonex doesn't have to create loads of different ROM images and update them when a program changes (unless of course dll's, fonts, or registry does). She's already suggested this, and i for one am happy to consider my internal disk part of the "built-in" software.

Mortals like us could do this task! Preferably the registry would be set up in the image by default (so you have e.g. a user rom with user package, dev rom with dev package, etc...)

(Also monica, if you are doing a dev-orientated package, i saw somebody mention an on-device C-sharp compiler somewhere ).

I can testify that Cmonex's v2 rom and Geared2003's Media Player work very well together.

Is this appropriate for the 900c cmonex v2.0, any other 900c, and the Sig3?

Thanks, Don

this would of course be an option.. if some people want to use the disk for something else

This is the package: Reco Utility Package for Handheld PC

And you will also see an image of Resco Picture Viewer running on a 900c
