Ok... it's running on a 900ish machine

(I don't think you can see on the picture if it's a 900 or a 900c... or can you?? Don't really know!)

updated!! http://hpcmonex.net/gear/gearedhosting.html

BTW geared2003, would you feel the hpc explorer package is complete enough to upload to that page?

Thanks a lot, but the newer 1.07 version is for ARM devices only; You should keep the 1.05 version too for MIPS devices.

I have just updated the HPC Explorer package here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/67880468/HPCEx.zip.html

I don't know if it is "good enough" but I'd like to test it a bit more...

i have a nice idea any of you who use a prism based wifi card with the 900c, can you give me the pnpid of the card(s)?

after entering driver name (prismnds), you can go to the registry: HKLM/drivers/pcmcia, find the relevant entry for the wifi card and copy it here. thank you!

this would be neat because if the database gets large enough i can put this in next rom and you'd not have to enter driver name any more.

here is an example for an obscure agere card (the agere driver is great, it includes so many pnpid's, unlike prism drivers):

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\PCMCIA\Askey-IEEE802.11b_Wireless_PC_Card_7008-C194]
"Dll"="ndis.dll"
"Prefix"="NDS"
"Miniport"="WLAGS46b"

I didn't have to do anything to get my WPC11 to work. I guess that I just got lucky. I even had to do a hard reset and it brought up the ISLP21 window right after I inserted the card.

I have a question, the reason I had to hard reset was that usbwait.exe performed an illegal operation and I could not get past the error window to use the computer. I am fairly certain this is my fault and I would like to know how to avoid it in the future. I am asking here though, because I have had my mobilepro for more than a year and this is the first time that it has happened. So I think that there might be a remote chance that it is a bug and honestly I am uncomfortable starting new threads.

I made a test with other Gwes.exe/commctrl.dll : same issue, so I guess it has something to do with the new V2 Coredll.dll...

Edit: I confirm it is due to coredll.dll. I used the original coredll.dll ( renamed to corefix.dll) and replaced all coredll calls in Resco Exes and Dlls with corefix.dll: now it works without any glitches. So there is a workaround anyway ! But Cmonex might be able to tell us what could cause this behaviour with her modified coredll, and find a better solution...

i've looked at resco now.

and i realized your description is not right....

you couldn't have obtained the original 900c coredll because it is missing the relocation tables and those need to be recreated.. i never did it, never felt the need for it.

so, which coredll did you use? i attempted using a coredll from my site, and edited all the resco files, but that did not help.

however, the problem is this:

resco sets these registry entries:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight]

"ACTimeout"=dword:7fffffff
"BatteryTimeout"=dword:7fffffff

if i'm using activesync remote display and set them to 0, and reboot, then everything is fine and resco will not bother with it again.

i then performed a hard reset and set these 0's by default to see if that helps, sadly not.

but, if you can tell me which coredll you used, it'd help a lot.

oh the wpc11 is supported out of the box..the only prism card that is supported with a pnpid in the registry by default.

can you tell me more about how the hard reset happened?

to Geared2003 again : i'm now not sure at all if it is coredll. i installed resco on a stock OS 2.02 (ok it had a xp gwes and commctrl), it ran fine, then i edited it to call the coredll i inserted in v2. and it still worked fine :confused: can you share your experiences in more detail please?

i'm wondering if i can prevent the incorrect registry values take effect, by editing the backlight driver or something - we'll see soon.
